CLAUDE + CHATPLACE
THE SETUP GUIDE

Give Claude access
to your Instagram

ChatPlace is an Instagram automation tool: keyword DMs, comment replies, an AI manager that answers your messages. It also has a connector for Claude. Once it is on, Claude reads your ChatPlace account from inside the chat, so instead of clicking through dashboards you ask "what is working and what should I change?" and get an answer built from your real conversations, comments and automations. This guide covers the setup, step by step, and the prompts to run once it is connected.

What you need before you start
Five things. Most people already have three of them.
WHAT CLAUDE CAN SEE ONCE IT IS CONNECTED Claude sees what ChatPlace sees: your DM conversations, comments, automations and how often they run, your contacts and their tags, your AI manager's settings, and on the Creator plan the content and trend ideas from Virale, ChatPlace's content agent. ChatPlace says it also reads your posts and how they did. What actually comes back depends on your plan and on how much history ChatPlace has collected, so the prompts in this guide tell Claude to say "not available" instead of guessing.
Connect ChatPlace to Claude
About five minutes. Have ChatPlace open in one tab and Claude in another.
  1. Create an API key in ChatPlace

In ChatPlace go to Settings, then API keys (the direct link is app.chatplace.io/settings/api-keys). Click Create key, name it Claude and copy it. ChatPlace shows the key only once, so keep it on your clipboard until step 4. If you lose it, delete it and make a new one.

  2. Open Customize, then Connectors, in Claude

On claude.ai or in the Claude desktop app, open Customize and go to Connectors. On older versions of the app the same page is under your profile icon, Settings, Connectors.

  3. Add a custom connector

Click + (or + Add), choose Add custom connector, name it ChatPlace and paste this address:

    https://mcp.chatplace.io/mcp

Click Continue. If Claude asks how you want to sign in, keep the options it suggests and click Add.

  4. Click Connect and paste your key

Click Connect next to ChatPlace. A ChatPlace window called Authorization opens. Paste your key into the API Key field and click Connect MCP. When it says "MCP successfully connected", close that window.

  5. Turn it on in a chat

Start a new chat, click + at the bottom left of the message box, open Connectors and switch ChatPlace on. Connectors are switched on per conversation, so check this every time you start a new chat.

  6. Answer the permission questions with care

The first time Claude uses a ChatPlace tool, it asks you first. Allowing it to read is fine. For anything that changes your account, like creating an automation or sending a message, approve each one yourself and do not pick Allow always.

CHECK THAT IT WORKED Ask Claude: "Using ChatPlace, which Instagram account am I connected to, and how many conversations do you see from the last 7 days?" If it answers with your handle, you are in. If it says it has no tools for that, go back to step 5 and switch the connector on.
THIS CONNECTION CAN ACT, NOT ONLY READ Through ChatPlace, Claude can build automations, change what your AI manager says and reply in your DMs, on your live account. For the analysis, tell Claude the session is read only (the prompts below already do). If you stop using the connector, delete the key in ChatPlace under API keys and the connection stops working.
Prompt 1: the full account read
New chat, ChatPlace switched on. Fill in the four lines under "About my business" before you send.
PROMPT 1 · THE ANALYSISCOPY EVERYTHING IN THIS BOX
You are my Instagram strategist. Use the ChatPlace connector for everything below. This session is READ ONLY: do not create, edit, send or delete anything in my account. About my business: Business: [WHAT YOU SELL AND TO WHOM, e.g. a hair salon for curly hair in Austin] Instagram handle: [@YOURHANDLE] Main goal on Instagram right now: [e.g. more bookings, more DMs asking for prices, more local followers] What I post today: [e.g. 3 reels a week, mostly before and after videos] Look at the last [30] days and give me a full analysis: 1. Conversations: how many DMs came in, what people ask most (grouped by topic), and which questions went unanswered or waited too long for a reply. 2. Comments: which posts got the most comments, what people are saying, and which comments are really sales questions. 3. Automations: which ones ran the most, how many people got to the end of each one, and where people dropped off. 4. Posts: which posts started the most conversations and comments, and what they have in common (hook, format, topic). 5. Audience: who is talking to me, based on tags and contact data, and which group looks most likely to buy. For every point, show the numbers you used. If a number is not available through the connector, write "not available" instead of guessing. End with the three biggest problems and the three biggest opportunities, in order of impact on my goal.
Prompt 2: the 30 day strategy
Same conversation, right after the analysis. Claude builds the plan from what it just found.
PROMPT 2 · THE STRATEGYCOPY EVERYTHING IN THIS BOX
Now turn that analysis into a strategy for the next 30 days. Same rule: read only, nothing changes in my account. Give me: 1. Three content pillars based on what people actually ask me in DMs and comments, with one sentence each on why. 2. Twelve post ideas for the next four weeks: the first line, the format (reel, carousel or single image) and the pillar it belongs to. 3. One keyword automation to build first: the keyword, the post it goes under, what the first DM says and what the follow up asks. 4. Ready replies for the five questions people ask me most, in my tone, short enough to read on a phone. 5. The numbers to check every Monday to know if this is working, with today's number next to each one. Put the post ideas in a table I can copy into my notes. Do not build anything yet. I will tell you when.
When you are ready to let it act
Two more prompts: one to build the automation from your plan, one to check the numbers every Monday.
PROMPT 3 · BUILD ONE AUTOMATIONCOPY
Build the keyword automation from your plan, and only that one: keyword [KEYWORD] under [WHICH POST]. Before you create anything, show me every message it will send, in order, and wait for my "yes". After you build it, tell me where to find it in ChatPlace so I can test it from a second account before anyone else sees it.
PROMPT 4 · THE MONDAY CHECKCOPY
Weekly check, read only. Compare the last 7 days with the 7 days before: DMs in, unanswered DMs, comments, automation runs, people who got to the end of each automation, and new contacts. Show both numbers and the change for each. Then tell me the one thing to fix this week.

IF MOST NUMBERS COME BACK "NOT AVAILABLE" Your ChatPlace account probably has little history yet. Leave it connected, turn on one keyword automation, and run Prompt 1 again in two weeks. The analysis is only as good as the conversations it can read.
