THE FULL SYSTEM + SETUP GUIDE

The Campaign
X-Ray

Give Claude every reel of a campaign and get the whole thing back in one picture: every reel on a chart by how it performed, every script broken into hook, setup, payoff and call to action, and the patterns that keep winning. It works on a brand you want to learn from or on your own account. One spreadsheet, three prompts, one conversation.

Use it in Claude.ai or the Claude desktop app, where Claude can build artifacts. October 2026.

Setup: build the campaign file
Claude can only analyze what you give it. Twenty minutes in a spreadsheet does the heavy lifting.
  1. Pick the campaign

Choose 10 to 40 reels from one account: a brand's launch, a competitor, a creator in your niche, or your own last two months. Fewer than 10 and any pattern you find is mostly luck.

  2. Make the sheet

Open a new Google Sheet with six columns in this order: Link, Date, Views, Likes, Comments, Transcript. One row per reel.

  3. Fill in the numbers

On Instagram, the Reels tab of a profile shows the views under each reel. Open each one for likes and comments and copy its link from the share menu. For your own reels, tap View insights for the full numbers.

  4. Add the words

Paste what is said in each reel into the Transcript column. If the reel has captions on screen, type them out. For your own videos, the auto captions in CapCut give you the text to copy. Rough is fine: Claude needs the words, not perfect punctuation.

  5. Download it and start one conversation

In Google Sheets go to File, then Download, and pick the CSV option. Open a new Claude chat, attach the CSV, paste Prompt 1 and send. Prompts 2 and 3 go in the same conversation, because they read what Claude built before.

Prompt 1: the X-ray
Send it together with the CSV. Nothing to fill in: Claude reads everything from the file.
PROMPT 1 · THE X-RAYCOPY EVERYTHING IN THIS BOX
You will act as a short form video strategist. Analyze the campaign in the CSV I attached. Each row is one reel, with the columns Link, Date, Views, Likes, Comments and Transcript. Use ONLY the data in the file. Do not invent views, dates or words that are not there. If a row has no views or no transcript, leave it out of the math and list it at the end under "Missing data". Step 1. Break down every reel. Split each transcript into: HOOK: the opening line, what is said in the first seconds SETUP: the lines that set up the problem or the promise PAYOFF: the value, the steps or the reveal CTA: what the viewer is asked to do at the end, or "none" Then give each reel three labels: FORMAT: tutorial, list, story, before and after, demo, opinion, reaction or news (add a new label only if none fits) HOOK TYPE: question, bold claim, result first, curiosity, problem, or "this is what it looks like" CTA TYPE: comment a keyword, follow, link, save, or none Step 2. Find the patterns. For every format, hook type and CTA type, calculate the number of reels, the median views and the average views. Rank them by median views. Step 3. Build an HTML artifact (a single file with embedded CSS and JavaScript, no external libraries) called "Campaign X-Ray", with: A dark header with the account name, the date range and the number of reels analyzed. Three cards at the top: the winning format, the winning hook type and the winning CTA type, each with its median views and the number of reels it is based on. A chart where every reel is one dot: formats along the bottom, views going up, and a short line marking the median of each format. Clicking a dot opens a panel with that reel's full breakdown: hook, setup, payoff, CTA, its three labels, views, likes, comments and the link. A table of every reel that I can sort by views, with its format and hook type. A "Winning patterns" section with five sentences, each one a pattern you can see in the data, followed by the reels that prove it. Design rules: strong contrast, body text at least 15px, no text on top of the dots or the labels, it must work on a phone screen, and only data from the file.
HOW TO READ THE X-RAY Start with the three cards, then check how many reels each one is based on. Next, look at the chart: a format whose dots sit in a tight group high up is a real winner, while a format with one dot far above the rest just got lucky once. Click the top three dots and read their hooks one after the other. That is usually where the pattern jumps out, before you even get to the "Winning patterns" section.
Prompt 2: the playbook
Same conversation. Claude already has the X-ray, so this turns it into rules you can film by.
PROMPT 2 · THE PLAYBOOKCOPY EVERYTHING IN THIS BOX
Now use the Campaign X-Ray you just built to write me a playbook. Use only what is in the file and in the X-ray, nothing invented. 1. Compare the top 20 percent of reels by views with the bottom 20 percent. For the hook, the setup, the payoff and the CTA, tell me what the top group does that the bottom group does not, with a quote from a real transcript as proof each time. 2. Give me five rules to copy, in order of impact. Each rule is one sentence I could stick on my wall. 3. Give me three things to stop doing, each with the reels where it hurt. 4. For the winning hook type, write a fill in the blank template, then three example hooks built from that template. Add it to the artifact as a new "Playbook" tab, in the same design.
A PATTERN NEEDS AT LEAST THREE REELS If a format or a hook type wins with only one or two reels, treat it as a hint, not a rule. The cards show how many reels each winner is based on. Trust the ones with five or more, and when the sample is small, ask Claude which rules would change if you added ten more reels.
WHY THE PROMPTS RANK BY MEDIAN, NOT AVERAGE One viral reel can make a whole format look like a winner on average. The median is the reel in the middle: half did better, half did worse. If a format wins on the median, it wins on most of its reels, not on one lucky one. Claude shows you both numbers, so you can see when they disagree.
Prompt 3: your next five reels
Still the same conversation. This is where the analysis turns into content for your business.
PROMPT 3 · THE NEXT FIVE REELSCOPY EVERYTHING IN THIS BOX
Last step. Using the playbook, write five reel scripts for my business. My business: [what you sell and who buys it] What I want viewers to do: [comment a keyword, book a call, visit the shop, follow] For each script give me: the format and the hook type it uses and why, then the hook, the setup, the payoff and the CTA, under 150 words in total, written the way people actually talk on camera. Use the winning patterns, but never copy a sentence from the campaign. Then tell me which one to film first, and why.
What to do in the next hour
DO THIS TODAY LEAVE FOR LATER
Build the sheet for one campaign, even with only 10 reels. Analyzing five accounts at once. Start with one.
Run Prompt 1 and click the three best dots. Arguing with the labels. Fix a label only if it is clearly wrong.
Write the five rules from Prompt 2 somewhere you will see them. A new camera or new lights. The hook matters more.
Film the script Claude says to film first. Running the X-ray again before you have 10 new reels.
